DEPOST-The story of Grandma Loyeh, the ruler of the Demon Gang in Binangun Hamlet, Kondangjajar Village, Cijulang District, Pangandaran Regency, West Java is familiar to the public.
Grandma Loyeh is the name of the residents for the ghost of the ruler of the Gang Siluman route to Mount Amparan.
The Siluman Gang is located in Binangun Hamlet, which is in the same direction as the Nusawiru Airport.
The supernatural gave the name Nusawiru Airport as Mount Amparan or an area where the demons and jinn creatures gathered in Nusa Java or Java Island.
Local cultural activist Abah Kundil said Gang Siluman was controlled by ghosts, including the ghost of Loyeh's grandmother, Marawe's grandmother, and Raneum's grandmother.
"The ghosts of the three grandmothers have their paths for activities and the main route is the Demon Gang which is controlled by Grandma Loyeh," he said.
According to Kundil, the three ghosts almost every night go back and forth in the Dusun Binangun area to Nusawiru Airport or Mount Amparan.
"Because residents believe that the three ghosts often go back and forth, the building of residents' houses in Binangun is always given a break as a path of activity for the ghosts of the three grandmothers," he explained.
He explained that if the houses in Binangun Hamlet were not given a break between building to building, there would often be unexpected incidents.
"Usually those who violate the provisions of building a house without a break are seriously ill until they die unnaturally," he said.
Kundil recounted that in 1980, one of the residents built a house that blocked the path of Granny Loyeh's ghost activity, after the building was finished every night there was always the sound of crying grandmothers.
"Finally, the house building was given a pause as a path for Loyeh's grandmother's ghost, and finally the crying sound was no longer repeated," said Kundil.
Kundil said a resident said that the ghost of Granny Loyeh is believed by the community to like playing with babies and even changing the baby's diaper when defecating or urinating.
"There was an odd occurrence, an 8-month-old baby at around 23.00 had his diaper changed with a new diaper and the diaper that had peed on was under the bed," he explained.
The incident, continued Kundil, was not strange for the residents of Binangun and everyone said that the diaper change was carried out by the ghost of Grandma Loyeh.
"Even though Loyeh's grandmother is a ghost, she never interferes or does anything dangerous. Even if there is a baby, Grandma Loyeh feels happy and always invites the baby to play," he said.
According to Kundil, a baby must be able to see things that sometimes cannot be seen by adults, if the baby cries continuously, the baby may not want to play with Grandma Loyeh.
"If a baby cries continuously unnaturally, people usually just say (Grandma Loyeh, please don't disturb our child, if you want to play please just don't let our child cry) after the sentence is said the baby stops crying," he said.
